Leadership for Small Business: The Power of Mentoring for Women in Business

When: 3:00p.m.-6:00p.m.
Where: Offices of Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur 41 South High Street, Suite 2900 Columbus, OH 43215

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is continuing its Leadership for Small Business series with an event focused on the power of mentoring for women in business on June 27. The program will exhibit the tangible values mentoring programs can add to many areas of a company’s performance: knowledge transfer, customer service training and leadership development.

The event, which will include a champagne reception following the program, will feature small business leaders who will share their own experiences with mentoring and its value, as well as the protégés that benefited from the experience.

A topic discussion will be moderated by Somers Martin, the Columbus Chamber’s Director of Small and Diverse Businesses.

“There is immeasurable value in workplace mentoring programs,” said Martin. “This event, which specifically highlights the benefits of mentoring for women in business, creates an opportunity for our region’s business members to find the resources they need to craft and develop those types of relationships with their peers.”

Additional panelists will include: Holly Gross, Columbus Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Government Relations; Elizabeth Blount McCormick, UNIGLOBE Travel Designers President; Joshua Sanders, Calfee, Halter & Griswold, LLP Partner; Janet Jackson, formerly United Way of Central Ohio’s President and CEO.

The Leadership for Small Business series is a product of a partnership between the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Fifth Third Bank, Propel Marketing and the Dispatch Media Group. The series features insights, trends and best practices uniquely targeted to small and midsize firms.
