In Memory of Walter J. Doyle

Walter J. Doyle, an early advocate of entrepreneurship and angel investing in Central Ohio, recently passed away. Walter was one of the very first to commit to the Ohio TechAngels Fund (OTAF) nearly 20 years ago. He continued his angel investing, participating in all five OTAF funds, one of only four people to do so.

Walter believed our region could become an advanced technology hub. He believed our region’s entrepreneurs and innovators could get us there, and helped us get there. Walter invested in more than 50 companies and was an active board member and mentor to many firms and their founding teams.

When it comes to entrepreneurship and advanced technology startups, Ohio is not fly-over country anymore. There are many optimistic visionaries to thank for that, and Walter Doyle is one of them.

To his memory and his family, please accept our appreciation and gratitude.
