Bridging the Gap Between Vision and Adoption: The Readiness Xchange Approach

Sometimes, bold ideas fail in execution because teams aren’t ready—and leaders don’t recognize it until it is too late.

That’s the mindset of Shara Hutchinson, founder of Readiness Xchange. For this software entrepreneur and the company she is building, organizational transformations, like rolling out new technology or navigating strategic market shifts, are just too mission-critical to falter or fail their intended outcomes.

Yet, research reports that about 70 percent of the time, large and small corporations struggle to execute change successfully. Projects run over time and budget, leaders grow frustrated, and teams quietly resist.

“In spite of all the project management tools and change manage principles, that’s still true after thirty years,” said Hutchinson, “Too often, there’s a disconnect between a change leader’s vision and what gets executed. Readiness Xchange is designed to close that disconnect and make success measurable.”

Readiness Xchange is a solution beyond traditional change management.

“In today’s environment, organizations are rolling out change at a rapid pace, but many have no real visibility into whether their people are actually adopting it,” said Hutchinson. “Readiness Xchange bridges that gap. It’s an execution intelligence platform that turns uncertainty into insight—so change isn’t just pushed from the top, it’s embraced across the organization.”

Leaders can set change adoption targets, monitor progress across departments, and identify areas of resistance or insufficient training. One of the distinguishing features of Readiness Xchange is its ability to simulate potential outcomes based on past projects. This predictive capability is particularly valuable for large organizations where the impact of change can vary significantly across different departments, teams, and roles.

“We help executives make better decisions for change,” said Hutchinson. “With our platform, a company can recognize trends that signal they aren’t as prepared as they thought they were for a transition that is already underway.”

Companies improve success when they asses where their change management process isn’t working and take steps to understand why.

“Sometimes,” Hutchinson said, “the very leaders making change decisions leave out the people most affected. They overlook individual roles, miss key stakeholder groups, and assume alignment that isn’t there. Readiness Xchange helps organizations drill down and uncover the real reasons change efforts stall so they can prevent breakdowns before they begin and proactively address issues before they escalate.”

Many factors, seen and unseen, tie into resistance to change. With Readiness Xchange, those considerations can be identified early, monitored throughout implementation, and addressed after going live. The platform helps companies proactively surface specific areas of resistance before change begins, track how it’s unfolding in real-time, and course-correct as needed to ensure lasting adoption.

Next Steps

Two years ago, Hutchinson, whose earlier career was at a high-growth software startup, engaged in Rev1 Ventures’ customer learning lab to define, validate, and then quantify the market problem of failed organizational change. She then spent another two years independently developing the business model behind Readiness Xchange. She is currently completing Rev1’s Customer to Capital Accelerator.

“Rev1 gives you access to mentors and advisors—a space where I’m constantly challenged to rethink ideas I’ve already worked through,” said Hutchinson. “I appreciate that push. There’s a lot I haven’t done before, but Rev1 helps me connect with people who have.”
