Giving Thanks: A New Chapter for Rev1 and a New Home for Columbus Tech Founders
This Thanksgiving season, we’re especially grateful as a new addition appears on the Columbus skyline: the Rev1 Ventures logo now shinning from The Peninsula. Its presence is a simple but meaningful reminder of the founders, partners, and community who have helped us reach this moment. It reflects both our appreciation and the momentum behind our next step: preparing to open Rev1 @ The Peninsula, one of the largest city-sponsored innovation spaces in the country and a new home for high-growth software, AI, and advanced tech entrepreneurs in Central Ohio.
This new space marks the first step in a two-phased regional strategy we announced last year with the City of Columbus, Downtown Columbus, Inc., and The Ohio State University. Phase one creates a vibrant hub for software and tech startups downtown, while phase two will expand modern office and wet lab space in the Innovation District at Ohio State for research-driven spinouts.
We built this space for the way today’s tech startups work. Founders told us they need:
- Flexible workspaces and meeting areas
- Conference rooms equipped with plug-and-play technology for seamless collaboration
- A dedicated coding room for their dev teams
- Community spaces that spark meaningful collisions between founders, customers, and investors
- Downtown Scaleup Suites that feel like the “next chapter” without long-term lease commitments
And importantly, this isn’t just a space for the Rev1 Ventures team, it’s a space for the tech community. We envision founders working heads-down on their companies by day, then gathering around the fireplace in the evening to swap stories, share best practices, or help each other think through a challenge. It’s a place built to strengthen the connections that only founders truly understand.
Why It Matters
Rev1 @ The Peninsula adds a highly visible, accessible headquarters for founders right in the heart of downtown. More importantly, it’s part of a growing constellation of innovation spaces across Central Ohio – from Rev1 Labs on OSU’s SciTech campus, to new university, corporate, and civic hubs. Together, they signal what many of us already feel: Columbus is becoming one of the country’s most exciting startup communities.

We’re putting the final touches on the build-out now for our January move-in, and look forward to our official public launch and open house in February. We can’t wait to welcome you in and show you what’s possible when space, community, and momentum come together.
