TOOL: Startup Vision and Values

As part of our support for the entrepreneur community, Rev1 offers tools and tips that we think will be valuable to our audience. As part of the tools series, we review podcasts that are helpful along the startup journey.

Developing your company’s vision and values

When it comes to startups, the term culture has become synonymous with “kegerators” and ping pong tables. But culture is much more than having fun. It’s getting the right people on the startup team to accomplish what needs to be done. This is especially important in the not-fun times when the only way for the startup to survive is for the whole team hunker down and work together. Read more about the case for culture here.

Company culture flows from your company’s vision and values. As the entrepreneur, your personal values and beliefs shape the company values. It’s important to define your vision and values from the start. The founding team that you put in place needs to be aligned with the mission, vision, and values. Stating these clearly and publicly establishes the company’s culture going forward.

Use this tool to help to define and articulate your company’s vision and values.
