Updox Nabs the Inc. 5000: How a Little Company with a Big Dream Became One of America’s Fastest-Growing Tech Firms

Updox, a Rev1 portfolio company that is the industry leader for physician connectivity and CRM solutions for health care, debuted at #524 on the thirty-fourth annual Inc. 5000.

“We’re incredibly proud of our consistent year-over-year growth,” said Michael Morgan, chief executive officer, Updox. “This achievement speaks highly of our solutions, customers, employees, and strategic partners. It’s proof positive of our full-force commitment to transforming the way health care connects.”

Updox is changing the way healthcare connects.

Inc. says that the entrepreneurial companies on the Inc. 5000 “fast” list distinguish themselves by growing quickly—plus they’ve discovered that they need to know faster than other companies.

That’s certainly been true for Updox. The company is in the top 10 percent of the fastest growing companies in the nation. Physicians and medical practices in all 50 states use the extensive Direct messaging network and platform of CRM applications to connect physicians, patients, payers, and partners to improve patient care and operate more efficiently.

Over the last three years, Updox’s revenue has grown 886 percent. The company has 50+ exclusive electronic health record (EHR) partners and 150,000 users. Updox services reach more than 25 million patients across the US.

“A little company in Dublin, Ohio had a dream,” Morgan said “Now, we’re serving physicians and medical practices with a full suite of services that connects patients, physicians and all partners involved in care—the first customer relationships management solution for health care. We have what the industry needs.”

Updox is a great place to work.

It’s particularly impactful that Updox has added 35 jobs in the last several years and continues to hire. Updox has senior and mid-level positions open in business development and marketing. Additionally, the firm has six positions listed on the Rev1 Jobs Board, including jobs in information technology, sales and customer service.

Becker’s Hospital Review named Updox on of the “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” in 2015. Columbus Business First also named Updox one of Central Ohio’s “Best Places to Work.”

The 2015 Inc. 5000 is the most competitive yet. The average company on this list achieved a three-year growth of 490 percent. There are 175 Ohio companies on the Inc. 2015 5000 list; 49 of those are in the Columbus region. Updox ranks #16 on the list of Ohio companies honored this year.
